UPDATE, June 6, 2022 — We are pleased to share that the operation of our Renton testing site will transition to community partner Atlas Genomics on Monday, June 27. The site will be closed Saturday, June 25 to allow time for the transition.

As we shared earlier this month, Public Health – Seattle & King County is ending its operational oversight of our Tukwila, Federal Way and Auburn COVID-19 testing sites as we transition from COVID-19 emergency response into long-term COVID prevention management.

We are excited to announce that community partners will be taking over operation of these three sites in June, following a brief closure during the transition process.

These sites will continue to provide free testing regardless of immigration or insurance status.

Tukwila testing site

The Tukwila testing site will be closed May 28-June 2 so that King County can transition full site operation to the Altius Institute for Biomedical Sciences, which has been working in partnership with King County at this site since it opened in 2020. The Tukwila testing site will reopen June 3.

Federal Way testing site

The Federal Way testing site will close temporarily starting May 28 and will reopen in early June with Altius taking over full operation.

Auburn testing site

The last day of King County operations for the Auburn site will be Wednesday, June 1. The site will reopen in June under the management of UW Medicine on June 6.

“We are so grateful to our community partners for their support over the past two years and for stepping in to take over the management of these sites. These organizations have played a critical role in ongoing and continued efforts to provide free testing to communities in south King County,” said Francisco Arias-Reyes,  Regional Health Administrator for Public Health – Seattle & King County.

Information for how to make an appointment at each of these sites will be added to our website soon: kingcounty.gov/covidtesting.

Renton testing site

The last day of King County operations will be Friday, June 24. The site will be closed Saturday, June 25 so that King County can transition full site operation to Atlas Genomics. The site will reopen to the public Monday, June 27.
