VIDEO: DR. JEFF DUCHIN DISCUSSES STEADY RISE IN COVID-19 CASES AND HOSPITALIZATIONS – APRIL 9, 2021

On April 9th, in his weekly press briefing, Health Officer Dr. Jeff Duchin addresses the continued high COVID-19 case count in King County, as well as efforts to equitably distribute COVID-19 vaccines.

“Limited vaccine supply has been our number one challenge to vaccinating everyone who’s eligible. We’ve had the capacity, the plans, and the partnerships to serve all who are eligible as soon as we have sufficient supply of vaccine. We are committed to providing vaccine as quickly as we get them. At the same time, we do not want to sacrifice equity for simplicity.

With whatever supply is available, now and going forward, we will continue to focus on addressing barriers to vaccination and facilitating access to vaccine to those community members who are most impacted by COVID-19 illnesses, hospitalization, deaths, and those who are most likely to experience barriers to securing appointments for vaccination.” -Dr. Jeff Duchin
