Love Unites Us: Valentines for Public Health!

We hope all the incredible, dedicated public health workers everywhere feel the love! These love letters are for you! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Valentine showing two children gazing at each other. Text: It's not ME-asles. It's US-les. Please get vaccinated.
When you get vaccinated for measles, you also protect those you love who can’t get the vaccine, like young babies and people who have weakened immune systems. More on measles vaccination: kingcounty.gov/measles/vaccine
Valentine text: My love for you is like Naloxone. Always with me. A man cradles a box of Naloxone nasal spray. The background is the galaxy with a Naloxone product floating in a nebula.
Carrying naloxone, the medication that reverses an opioid overdose, is an easy way to say ‘I love you.’ Use the Washington State Naloxone Finder to find naloxone near you.
Valentine text: To my ex, our relationship should be kept in the past, like polio. A couple sharing a romantic meal, with an upset man on the other side of the window.
Vaccines have quietly rewritten the story of human health, allowing people to grow up healthier than generations before them. More about the vaccines that changed childhood: Invisible Victories: How Vaccines Transformed Childhood
Valentine text: If this food truck is a-rocking, please come a-knocking. Make sure there's a food safety rating sign!
We LOVE all the mobile food vendors that take the steps to make sure customers’ food is safe to eat! Support these local businesses by looking for the food safety rating signs! Make sure your food vendor has a Public Health permit to avoid foodborne illness
Valentine text: Nothing makes my heart beat faster than you. Two mice climbing into red dishes around a kitchen sink.
Not looking to share space with rats and mice? Breaking up is not so hard to do: How to keep rodents out of your home
It’s possible to get the flu, even if you got the flu vaccine, but vaccination can make flu much less severe and shorten your illness. The flu season typically runs through spring, so it’s not too late to get a flu shot! kingcounty.gov/FindaClinic
Valentine text: Our love is like The Big One. It keeps me up at night. A emergency go-kit is shown in a livingroom.
Rest easier by getting a go-kit ready for any kind of emergency. Learn more: Disaster Preparedness | King County, WA | Make It Through
Valentine text: Love is in the air. Keep it fresh. Keep it clean. A pug dog sits next to an air purifier with a green, heart-shaped cloud above him.

Valentine text: My love for you can't be explained by science. Just like the new federal vaccine guidelines. Two scientist shrug in a lab with pink potions.
We’re still in love with science! In Washington, we’re continuing to recommend vaccinations in alignment with the American Academy of Pediatrics. And something more to love: childhood vaccinations continue to be covered by insurance and available at no cost through the Childhood Vaccine Program.
Valentine text: To the health departments in the Twin Cities: Love unites us. Our hearts and with you. People in winter coats holding up a sign showing love for immigrant neighbors.
