MPV cases in the United States and locally here in King County have increased over the past several weeks. As of August 24, 2022, 310 King County residents have been diagnosed with MPV, an increase from 48 cases in mid-July.
On August 5, King County received our most recent allocation of vaccine. Here’s a brief explainer to answer questions on what’s planned for these doses.
Public Health – Seattle & King County, with support from Washington State Department of Health, is investigating a presumptive case of monkeypox virus infection reported to Public Health yesterday. The case is in an adult male with international travel in the past month to a country that has also reported monkeypox cases recently.
