Public Health – Seattle & King County is informing the community of a measles case in a traveler that went through Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on October 13, 2025.
A rabid bat was found in Seattle on September 23, 2025 near Washington Park Arboreteum. Anyone who might have had contact with this bat (even if not bitten) could be at risk and should seek medical evaluation immediately or call Public Health – Seattle & King County.
Public Health – Seattle & King County was notified of a confirmed measles case in a King County child. An adult family member of the child exhibits symptoms consistent with measles and is considered a probable measles case while we await confirmatory test results. The two individuals visited multiple locations throughout King County while infectious.
