Cold cases: Help identify unknown people found dead in King County

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office is hoping forensic sketches of people who have died will help lead to their identification.

At any given time, there are about 40,000 unidentified remains in the United States –  around 50 in King County. Washington’s only forensic anthropologist, Dr. Kathy Taylor, investigates these remains with help from law enforcement, and she has released these sketches to see if you can help too.

Flip through the photo gallery to find out what we know about the remains. If you have information about any of these cases, please call the King County Medical Examiner’s Office at 206-731-3232, ext. 1.

If you know someone who has gone missing, it is important to report them. Once a missing person is in our system, we can use familial DNA to help make connections to any unidentified remains that are brought into our office.

Check back on our website at kingcounty.gov/unidentified to peruse our cold cases.
